How to cook bacon i the oven?

If you are a novice at cooking bacon, then you probably have no idea on how to cook bacon in the oven. However, if you follow some simple tips, you can easily cook this fatty food in the oven. First off, you must always make sure that the fat is fully melted before you add it to the baking dish. Cook the fat for about 18-20 minutes until it is reaching your desired degree of crispness.

Once the fat is fully melted, remove the baking tray from your oven and transfer the fat with a spatula to a clean paper towel-lined table.

Start with the bread

If you are rendering the fat directly onto the bread, then line a large, metal baking rack with a layer of uncooked shredded paper towels. Next, place the bread with its fat side facing up inside the aluminum baking sheet. If possible, raise the other side of the slices so that the top part of the bread is visible. Leave the slices in their original position for about ten minutes so that the fat has a chance to fully mix with the bread. When you feel that the bread is ready, remove it from the oven.

Place the bread with the fat on top back on the baking sheet.

If you are making perfect bacon every time, then you do not have to keep cleaning up the crumbs and pieces of fat on the slices. Instead, you should clean up the slices using a cookie cutter or ice cream scoops. To make a cookie cutter, you need to prepare a cookie cutter mold in which you will cut the shapes. The cookie cutter molds can be bought from any bake store. After cutting the slices into the required sizes, place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Next step

If you have already done this, then you can move on to preparing the second piece of the bread. This time, use a piece of uncooked parchment paper or a piece of foil. Place the piece of parchment or foil on the bottom of the prepared cooling rack. The piece of parchment paper or foil should be wrapped around one end of the loaf. The purpose of doing so is to create an airtight seal that would prevent the food from sticking to the bottom of the cooling rack while it bakes in the oven.

Once the piece of parchment or foil is laid atop the prepared baking sheet, the second piece of bread should be placed on top of it. At this point, you should put in three pieces of sliced bacon strips. Just make sure that the slices are not all lying directly on top of each other. Instead, place one slice on top of the single layer of paper or foil.

Once you have successfully placed all of the slices onto the prepared single layer of foil or sheet pan, the middle piece of bread should be placed. Now, the slices must be flipped and placed in the preheated oven. Baking time will not be same, its based on the size of your loaf. However, it should take about 20 minutes for all slices to be fully cooked through when using a traditional oven.

The last step

When the slices baked then remove those from the oven. Remove the slices from the baking sheet that used before and place slices on a cooling rack. They should be able to safely stay there until the next day when you can remove them from the rack. Once you remove the baked bacon from the oven, check the thickness of the slices using a toothpick. It is best to measure the thickness before you put them in the refrigerator since you may end up baking a half-size pizza due to overbaking.

Once the slices are completely cooled, remove them from the baking rack and place them on a cooling rack. If they begin to brown on the outside, they are done. If they are still rather crisp, allow them to warm up a bit more. Using a wire rack to keep them off the counter or table is the best way to keep the slices from becoming overcooked.
